The Note Pad built-in application on the Palm brand Palm OS devices is a simple drawing application. Palm positions it as an application for making quick, small notes. This is reasonable as there is no desktop companion application for Note Pad.
Unlike Handspring’s inclusion of Date Book+, Palm’s inclusion of Note Pad fundamentally extends the functionality of the device: there is now a way to draw, instead of being limited to text. The drawing support is somewhat primitive, but nonetheless available.
For devices such as the Visor, which do not include a built-in drawing application, the freeware Diddlebug program can serve as a reasonable substitute.
