Freeware Applications

Introduction

This section describes various freeware applications for the Palm OS platform that I have found useful in day-to-day use. The applications described in this section are also all entirely free: there is no “trial period,” no nag screens, no crippling of functionality until the software is registered. These applications are simply free, published for you to use out of the goodness of the authors’ hearts.

Even though these applications are free, it is rude to simply use them without rewarding the authors in some way. I have found freeware authors to be appreciative of an e-mailed “thank you.” Generally freeware authors are even more responsive to feature requests than are commercial product authors. This is particularly true if you discover the author’s development needs and fill them: the author of Projects, for example, was more than willing to put in beaming functionality when a supportive user donated a Palm m100 with which to test. (You need two Palm OS devices to beam from one to the other!)
