Date Book+ is a built-in application for the Handspring line of Palm OS devices. It is a variant of Date Book with enhancements that may make it more useful. Date Book+ adds a built-in Daily Journal (a note on an untimed item named Daily Journal), a view with both appointments and filtered To Do List items, the ability to create To Do List items directly from the daily view, floating events, and several more views.
Floating events are essentially To Do items carried in the calendar rather than in the To Do List.
Overall, the capabilities of Date Book+ are comparable to those of regular Date Book, although Date Book+ has several nice touches Date Book does not. Visor users are also advised to use Date Book+ as their default date book: otherwise alarms can be presented twice, once by each of Date Book and Date Book+.
There is one feature present in Date Book that is absent in Date Book+, and that is the ability to beam an appointment to another Palm OS device user. If you need this function, you can launch Date Book and beam the appointment from that application.
The “Daily Journal” function is also provided by the freeware application DES Journal, and this application may be desirable even if you have Date Book+.
